High Astromancer SolarianThe best raiding nights are those in which you can down a boss an hour with so little durability loss that you make money on the endeavor.

Last night Resurrection took our fourth crack at Solarian. The second boss in our progression through The Eye, (Void Reaver is on farm status). In the past we’ve had hardware and n00b issues that were preventing us from seeing what a truly easy fight this girl is.

For those who don’t know the fight High Astromancer Solarian. Is a two phase fight, with serious anti-raid abilities but little melee damage output for your tank to worry about. Read the rest of this entry »

Periodically while reading Druid blogs all around the interweb I have little epiphanies. I remember the overwhelming sense of awe (and duh) I felt when I learned that Lifebloom could be rolled on a target to prevent it blooming…

Moonglade Teleport: Moonglade

Teleports the caster to the Moonglade.

I was speced Feral from 60-70 and started raiding Karazhan as an OT so I never bothered to figure out what that new healing spell I got at lvl 64  had was capable of. When soloing I would stack LBs on myself before starting a tough pull but when in Bearform I couldn’t exactly reapply.  Read the rest of this entry »

While slumming through the Druid Class Fourms today I came across a thread started by a disgruntled druid (you thought I was going to say shaman didn’t you). Harbls from Spinebreaker wants what was promised to the Druid Class before the first release of WoW- Ambient Form.

The Lurker BelowLast night the guild was scheduled to go to Tempest Keep our target was Solarian. We all get out to Netherstorm and zone in before Heelium, our new not so new senior raider, realizes that we have no Protection Paladin to tank the adds during the boss fight. Unwilling to spend our development night on what looks to be certain a loss, we shift gears and race to Serpentshrine Cavern to try our hand at The Lurker Below. The group is Ranged DPS strong with 4 Mages and 3 Warlocks so Heelium and Myraculous, the guild leader, a both feeling confident about this attempt.

Lurker is a long fight, with two alternating phases and one nasty head-in-ass punishing ability. The combat takes place in a circular water filled cavern. The cave has a few platforms for the raid members to stand on, the water around the platforms is very hot and does 500 “Scalding” damage every few seconds so you don’t want to stay in it if you don’t have to. The first phase is the boss in a general tank and spank situation, with the added joy of Lurkers Spout ability, this is that wake up and play for real or you lose ability I mentioned before. Periodically through the phase Lurker well Spout which is like a high pressure water cannon that rotates completely around the room. If the spout hits you it blows you backwards to the edge of the circular room and does about 7k damage. In order to avoid the damage everyone jumps into the water taking the minimum damage until the spout goes past the its back out onto the platform to continue the beating.

This week after an unsuccessful attempt on Solarian, a few guildies threw together a Karazhan group after all it’s only 12:30 why should we go to bed sooo early, right? The guild has had kara on farm for quite a while but I am USUALLY drop cursed, and as such have only picked up a few pieces from the instance most of which were things noone else wanted and I took them for my cat or bear sets not healing. This run was quite a bit different. I have run Shadow Labs 40 times hoping that the Idol of the Emerald Queen would drop. It hasn’t and for the record SLabs is the worst instance to get a group for. I may as well be PUGing AQ40 pre-BC. The first night in Moroes drops Idol of the Avian Heart and as I’m the only Resto Druid it goes to me, score (I would rather have the SLabs drop considering how often I cast Healing Touch, but now my at least I have a healing idol).
Over the course of the week we find time to clear through Prince and my luck never changed. In all I picked up seven upgrades this week:

2. Ribbon of Sacrifice
3.Forest Wind Shoulder Pads
4.Headdress of the High Potentate
5. Stainless Cloak of the Pure Hearted
6. Violet Signet–my rep went up.
7. Necklace of Eternal Hope–from badges

After squallering without a single upgrade for more than a month (admittedly I wasn’t on that often), and falling far enough behind gear wise as to lose my spot in raids, I’ve changed 9 pieces in a week. Now I’m almost to where I need to be for SSC, where I’m sure I won’t see a drop for another month, I shoulda kept my mouth shut…
